Virgin America although a possible sinking ship because of the merger is still a great choice for west coast travelers. Between the new routes to Mexico, Hawaii, and Denver. The purple mood lights and food you can order whenever you want in the flight Virgin America is truly like no other airline. The one thing I dislike about the travel experience is the first class. Before I move forward I give them respect for having a constant first class on every flight not like any other competitors. For starters they are now the only airline that doesn’t have flatbed seats on transcontinental flights. Also one thing I love about Virgin is the ease of just ordering food on the screen and it coming to your seat five minutes later. So now you know the info I am going to do a review on each seat now. Seat 1A: On my flight from SFO to SAN I quickly got through security and was left in Virgin’s Amazing SFO terminal. I had a quick sandwich and was on my flight. The seat was comfortable and the flight attendant was kind. As soon as we got into the air a meal service was offered. It was terrible the food was a Egyptian granola with yogurt on it. One of the worst first class airplane meal I had ever had. Since I had a horrible meal I was pretty hungry so I went to the eat menu on the TV and there was a message that appeared and basically said you couldn’t order food. So I got up and went to the flight attendant and asked for a snack so she came over with a snack basket with a narrow variety of terrible snacks. By the time I asked her for a snack in the back we started our landing into San Diego. Seat 3D: Two days past and it was time to go home. I got to San Diego airport took a little bit of time and got through security. The Terminal reminded me of a shopping mall. I boarded the plane and sat down. The seat was very nice. Since it was main cabin select I had way extra legroom and complimentary snacks (the real ones from the back.) We got up in the air I ordered some snacks and a green tea checked and responded to a couple of emails and before I knew it I was on the ground at SFO. Did I miss the extra recline of course but for half the price I only gave up one thing it probably would of been a bigger deal if the flight was longer than an hour. A crazy thing about VA’s site is most of the time that main cabin select is the same price or cheaper than economy.
